Dubai is such a nice city to take photos! As you can see in the photograph, the architecture is phenomenal!
When I stayed in Dubai, one night I jumped into an Uber and headed over to Dubai Marina just before sunset to make some nice photos on an evening walk in Dubai Marina. I was staying for one week in Dubai in September and the sunset during this time was long enough to get to multiple locations with still having awesome colors.
There is not much you can do wrong when walking the walkway along Dubai Marina – I recommend to do an evening walk in Dubai Marina, during this time you have the best colors when taking photos. Just tell the cab driver at the Mall in Dubai Marina and walk down to the water. Once there, you are in the middle of the happening and you can start taking photos.
There are some good restaurants along the walkway but remember all of them do not serve alcohol. If you want to go for a drink you need to find a hotel. In Dubai, the almost only place allowed to serve alcohol are hotels. There are some bars but I have not found any in this location – maybe google could help as well 😉
Back to photography – in the photo you see the twisted building. This is one of the most incredible architectures in Dubai. Burj Khalifa is the most incredible landmark in Dubai, but a little hard to photograph. This is an extremely high tower that does not really fit with any lens on a photo. Plus, when there are no clouds, the photo has just too much sky with no drama…
Lightroom Tip:
To bring out the magenta color in a photo, I usually change the white balance “Daylight” and increase the “Tint” slider to the right to increase the magenta. To finetune everything, I change the “Blue” in the “HUE” section under the color management – pull this slider also to the right to see how it affects the color.
