I cannot really travel obviously so I started to look at photographs I took in the past. The location of the one in this post is at the coast of Oregon. I once drove from Portland down to San Francisco in about one week. Beautiful drive! When I started driving from Portland, the weather was getting worse and I was afraid that it stays that way. For one day, I just had terrible rain… Then, everything opened up and I had that moody kind of situation like in the photograph.
Before going to adventures I usually get prepared on the web to see what I can expect. Not this time! I simply looked up the time to drive the scenic route from Portland along the coast to San Francisco. One personal tip: Use navigation when doing this, otherwise you will miss the right turn to Route 1 in California. Anyways, this time I felt like I just stop the car when I see something interesting. The fun fact is that I stopped at almost all the nice locations there are along the coast without knowing it. This time I looked online what to expect after I took all the photographs.
Most probably I would have been a little disappointed when I would have found out that there was something I missed – but on the other hand I tried to find something that not everybody sees; and this is what photography is all about, see something that others do not see!
Photography at the Beginning:
Usually before travelling I look all the places I go to, up on the internet what spots there are. When I started photography I looked up other people to find some inspiration. I really think by doing this, you become a better photographer because at the very beginning of photography the eye is not trained enough to see a beautiful composition.
