I took this photograph in Spain on a road trip from Switzerland to Alicante, Spain. My first stop was in the charming city of Montpellier in France, before crossing the border into Spain. The highlight of the trip was the beautiful Costa Brava, known for its crystal-clear waters and delicious local cuisine. But the biggest surprise came on the way back, when I made a “pitstop” in the charming city of Nancy in France, where I spent a night before returning to Switzerland – more about this story later here.

Photography Tip:
If you’re a photography enthusiast, one tip that can elevate your aerial shots is to incorporate the use of a drone. Drones offer a unique perspective and allow you to capture stunning images that would otherwise be impossible to achieve. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when flying your drone for photography:
- Plan. Before taking off, make sure to plan your flight path and identify the specific shots you want to capture. This will help you make the most of your time in the air.
- Manual Controls. Most drones come with automatic settings, but for the best results, try using manual controls to adjust things like shutter speed and aperture.
Composition. The basic principles of composition still apply when using a drone. Use the rule of thirds and other techniques that I have written about here to create visually pleasing shots. Be aware of the regulations. Always check the regulations of your specific location and make sure you are following them!!! Switzerland changed the rules in January 2023. You need a flying permit now. To read about the Swiss regulation, click here.
By following these tips, you’ll be able to capture breathtaking aerial shots and elevate your photography to new “heights”.
