Cartagena doesn’t wait for you to notice it – it grabs you. The old town explodes with color like confetti in the wind. Yellow walls, pink bougainvillea, turquoise doors, and colonial look in every street. It’s a place that lives loudly and proudly.
As I wandered its cobblestone alleys, music played everywhere – in the air, in the walls, in people’s smiles. My camera never got a break. Every corner held a story. I snapped this shot just as the afternoon sun filtered through the palms, softening the chaos into art.
Photography Tip: The Light
Use vibrant locations to play with contrast and color. Try shooting during midday with a polarizing filter – it’ll deepen the skies and saturate the architecture without blowing out highlights. (Or do it afterwards with in post-processing).
