A lot of people told me to go to Baker Beach for nice photos. I’ve looked it up over at Google Maps and did some Street View investigation. It was kind of an OK location, but to me it didn’t look like something fancy.
The reason why I never got there is simple. From this perspective, neither during sunset, nor at sunrise the sun is close to the bride. And this does not really give me the opportunity (I thought) to take nice photos. I obviously was wrong…
My friends told me Baker Beach is a nude beach. When we were driving over during daytime, I have not seen any naked people. It has been a little different when I got back there at dusk.
We were four photographers lining up, so no one gets into someone else’s photo. It’s like a codex among photographers. Anyways, after taking a few shots, a complete naked man just walks up looking right into our lenses. I don’t know what this was all about – but obviously it seemed to be very cold…
Artistical Tip:
I don’t know if you kept following my artistical work over on social media, but I was always saying with every trip I bring home one, max. two stunning photographs. Before I get into range of reasons, I can tell that this is one of my favorite photographs I took during my travels in California. I can’t tell you why – I just know what photo feels good to retouch.
