Since I started my photography work I have been looking video mostly on youtube about how other photographers post process their photos. I have been talking to many photographer at exhibitions to increase my knowledge base.
A lot of photographers were telling me that they have a secret trick that they do on all their photos to make them look good. Some of them were even lying by saying that they only changed the white balance and nothing else on the image; taking a closer look I saw that all the other sliders have changed too…
Lesson learned: Do not believe everything other people are telling you!
There is no such thing as the real secret trick about image post processing. There are for sure ways how to work, how to organize yourself, how to efficient post process the photos taken out in the field. Maybe there are habits like in my case, when starting with Lightroom, exporting the photos and going either to Photoshop or Photomatix and then Photoshop. There are other ways how to do that like to skip the export process go directly from Lighroom to other programs.
Maybe you do it different than I do. And this is the secret trick about it! Find out what works best for you! Take what you can reuse from my blog and bring it to your process!
