It has been a while since I posted here and I am sorry! I am back from a bigger trip over to Taiwan and Hong Kong. I would tell you that the internet connection was too slow to upload a post I would lie. Almost everywhere is internet connection available for free in Taiwan and Hong Kong – sometimes I feel like Switzerland being a technological handicapped country…
Over at my Facebook page I started a daily upload of photos I took there. Usually my photo retouch workflow includes Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and sometimes Photomatix Pro. On my trip to Asia I only had an older version of Adobe Lightroom on my laptop to retouch the photos. I also took more photos during daytime.
My challenge was to post process the photos only using Adobe Lightroom. And it was not easy because I made more photos outside my comfy-zone at night. Also, most of the photos I did there during the daytime were not on a tripod. For daytime photography, the retouching is a little different than my usual night / ambient light post processing settings in Lightroom.
I learned a lot during my trip in Taiwan and Hong Kong!
One of the thing I started increasing and not decreasing is the exposure. I used heavy vignetting and an increased exposure to give the photos a nice touch! Another thing I like to play with is the color saturation and vibrance in Adobe Lightroom. I decreased both and the colors in the photograph start fading out. In the colors adjustment section I bring back now the colors I want to pop.
The daily photos I did during my trip in Taiwan and Hong Kong ca be found over at my Facebook page.
