The Marina Sands is one of the most famous and known hotels in Singapore! This hotel can be seen from almost everywhere within the city, one exception might be the subway…
I love this photograph, it only had one problem when I started post processing the photo: Too much unused space in the photograph – I did not know what to do with the space in the upper right and the lower two corners of the photograph. Usually when there is no drama in it, I go for black and white. Here, it is a little different, because the photo lives from its colors! So, I decided to create a heavy vignetting effect.
There are a few ways how to create a Vignetting Effect in Adobe Lightroom. The most obvious one is under Effects. Simply grab the slider called Amount to the left to increase the black vignetting effect.
The second one is under lens correction. Below the lens profile you see again a Vignetting label. Pull this slider to the left to increase the black vignetting effect.
The last function to create a vignetting effect is the Radial Filter. I simply create one and increase the contrast to create a vignetting effect. Some say to lower the exposure – not my kind of thing, I think it looks too harsh.
