How do I find locations to take good photographs? That is a very good question! It is probably the question to ask when it comes to photography because this is where it all starts…
I do not have an answer for this question but I can tell you how I do it. Pretty often I use other websites like 500px, flickr or google to see what other photographers did where I want to go. This gives me an overview about it. I also use google maps to find parks, which is always a good location to go at and start from there. Like in this photo! There a park I found right in front of me. And behind me is a river that I usually feel attracted too!
I tried a few apps that should show locations but most of the photos resp. the locations is crap because people do not want to give away their locations so the photo stays unique. I completely understand this and I had to find a different approach of finding cool spots to take pictures.
Most of the time I spend walking and try to find and see things other people don’t. I start at a location that I found online and go from there. I know that this is not much help and there is not much of magic behind this post but this is how I do it.
