It has been a while when I was in Moscow, but last time when I was there I hit Moscow on a cold day. I just remember reading the weather forecast wither wring or they had it published wrong!
When looking up the weather online (I was convinced) it said 12 degrees Celsius – this is about 53 Fahrenheit. Of course, according to this information, I packed and got prepared. When getting there, I was waiting for the driver outside the arrival hall.
When arriving in Moscow, I remember as if it was yesterday that I was thinking it feels a little coder than expected. It turns out that it did not only feel colder, it was actually colder. According to the thermometer there it was -12 Celsius / 10 Fahrenheit. Slight difference! Thanks to my friends there helping me buying proper clothes for the “new” temperature 😉
I took the subway to get to the Red Square to take photos. Moscow has a phenomenal underground subway system – I must admit, it is a little hard to come by due to the Cyrillic writings, but I have survived it. It is also a little dangerous to ride the subway after a certain time. This is what the locals told me the day after; well, the correct words where “Brave Man!”.
To me it was totally worth getting there taking some photos since I only stayed there for one night. When we can travel again, I will want to go back there!
Photography Tip:
Proper preparations is half the fun! This is what I learned on this trip! It can also to go shopping when realizing that I have forgotten something at home, but on this trip I only spent one night and therefore I did not have a lot of time… I put an eBook together with everything I have experienced during my travels. Go grab it for free here.
