It has been a while since I have been travelling to Finland! I have not seem much there because I only stayed in Helsinki for one night. But it seems that I was lucky with the sunset and its clouds.
Helsinki is the capital of Finland and is (obviously) a seaport city. The architecture of the city (no idea if this goes for the whole country) is unique due to its colors. All the buildings are painted in a unique white color – or maybe it is the material that the locals used to build the city.
As already explained, I did not get to see much of the city in just one night. But what I have experienced is the relatively expensive alcoholic drinks. This is nothing unusual in the countries of Scandinavia. It seems like the alcohol is taxed 10 times as much as in all the other countries in the world.
Photography Tip:
If you want to make the sky pop from your photos, simply darken the blues in the sky. This is simple to achieve in Adobe Lightroom. Under the HSL Panel, there are adjustment options for HUE, Saturation and Luminance to affect the blue color individual. Play a little bit with the sliders to see what works best for the photograph you are currently working on.
