About Me
If I am not taking photos, I am the permanent stunt double of the Incredible Hulk. Enjoy my photographs!Follow Me On
My parents gave me a very unique name, Beat Dietsch. It is always a little confusing to people working with me outside of Switzerland. My first name “Beat” does not exist anywhere else but Switzerland.
I am a travel photographer trying to take nice photographs wherever I go. Sometimes the photos are planned, sometimes it is just an “accident”. My digital photography adventure started in Iceland when two friends of mine invited me to join their trip. I was introduced to the world of digital photography. I was trying HDR (High Dynamic Range) by that time and as many other photographers out there my photographs where just overcooked.
As every beginner I had to learn to use HDR respectively the tools a little more decent. So I started looking into a lot of other software components out there that will help in the creation of my digital art work. Now, I mainly use Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Photomatix Pro.
Every photographer has its own style – so do I. Often, when I get to a location, the style stays the same. For example in Japan I tried to pop all that light and used that washed out look because I think this belongs to this country. If you like my style, I wrote a few eBooks and created some presets for Adobe Lightroom CC (latest version!) and Photomatix Pro. Jump over to my store to see what drags your attention.
Back to my style. I am more than just a photographer as I am also a digital artist with a flair of the creation of realistic photographs using software. I try to be as close to reality as possible. That doesn’t mean I stick close to the RAW file and only make minor changes. I create my art the way I felt when I was there – or what I have in mind how it looked like.
Over on my blog, I give away free photo tips. Every photograph has its own short story. When I am not travelling, I am organizing photography workshops. I do exhibitions of my famous photographs and make presentation about my digital art. There are also education videos on my blog to help you increasing your skills in the field of retouching.
If you want to know more about my photo postprocessing, go to the blog, there are some video clips that explain If you want to know more about my photo postprocessing, go to the blog, the video clips that explain simple and short how I manage Adobe Lightroom can be found there. By the way, Adobe Lightroom is where I make the major changes in ma photographs.
Below you find in my opinion (I know I am Swiss and shouldn’t have an opinion…) best photographs I ever took. I took those photographs all over the world. When I travel, I take home thousands of photos. All of them are OK, but (here comes another opinion), there is just one, max. two photographs I bring home per trip that are absolutely stunning! Enjoy the photos below…
Do it with me and jump over to my store. There are several eBooks and presets I have been working on over the past few years – no kidding, it took me quite some time to make all this happen! And I am still working on it, there is more to come!
My next trip brings me into a country I have never been before, Portugal. I will host two photo workshops, one in Lisbon and the other one in the Algarve. I will travelling to Portugal to recon the places before hosting the photo workshops.
There will be a lot of fun! Take care and stay save!
