The weather forecast did show some rain when I arrived in Annecy. I was lucky because it was not raining at all! Of course I got prepared for some bad weather – I do not want to trash my photo equipment!
Right after I took the photograph in this post, I walked up to a restaurant to grab some food. When I sat down and ordered some food, it started pouring! I was watching the rain from shelter and enjoyed my Fondue.
By the way: I wrote a book about how to take photos when it is raining that I will promote soon over on my photography store. A few year back when travelling, I experienced rain in almost every location I went to! Who else should tell you how to take photographs in the rain if not me?
Adobe Lightroom Tip:
The vignetting tool is one of the most powerful tools to give the photo its final touch. But when starting with this, I almost always overdid it. My settings are between -6 and -12. When I am not sure if this works out, I look at the photograph in a small version. When the vignetting is not noticeable, then I go with it!
