I was visiting the Monkey Forrest in Ubud – this is by the way one thing you must do if you should ever visit Bali!
The story behind this photograph was very funny because I had to chase this little monkey for like 15 minutes until he cracked his coconut!
When following this little buddy, they started feeding the other monkeys. He was hungry and the coconut still not open. All the other monkeys wanted to steal his coconut, but they were not successful. At the end, when he finally had it open, he presented himself with his trophy to show the whole world what he can do!
Rules are meant to be broken
One of the photography rules I follow (almost strictly) is to never center an object. What do you want to do if this just looks good?
“Never Center the Horizon” is another rule. One of my all-time favorite photographs I ever took is the reflection of a mountain in the water in Iceland. Guess what? Yes, the horizon is centered!
There are no rules prohibiting doing things if you like a photograph – if you like it the way it is, screw the rules!
