Before I am going to start: Awesome National Park! If I should ever return to San Francisco (and I will), I drive there again. There are so many places to go see and take photos of. A lot of “hidden” beaches, walking trails, nice landscape etc. to see there. Unfortunately, I (thought) I did not have time.
My game plan: San Francisco, Big Sur, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and then back to San Francisco. It seems like plans are meant to be changed. The weather was not really good in Los Angeles and the forecast for San Diego did not look good either. On top of that, the hotel prices in Las Vegas for the weekend were thru the roof!
I stayed one night longer than planned in Los Angeles. The weather forecast looked better for the day after but was worse than before. Los Angeles would have some more photo locations to offer than just Santa Monica. Maybe next time.
Big Sur was a big surprise and like Arnold Schwarzenegger used to say: I’ll be back!
Photography Tip:
Try to be different. When taking the photograph of this typical location at Big Sur national Park, of course I did the whole nine yards (see social media). But, since everybody does this, I tired to get a close up of this nice waterfall. I have actually never seen a waterfall at a beach.
