My last trip outside Switzerland brought me to Italy. And one of the cities you have to see whenever you should go there is Venice. It is an awesome place with lots of photo opportunities.
Venice is a little more than 7 hours of driving from where I live. I did a stop in Milano before driving to Venice; this is about half way… The day I drove to Venice, I arrived about 3pm; on a Saturday – and this was a bad idea! All the parking was occupied and I had to queue for one hour and a half.
It was totally worth it to queue and stay a few nights there. I have been to Venice one time before this trip, so I sort of knew what to except. But on this trip, I was getting surprised. The weather was better than last time and I found some more locations to take photos.
Photography Tip:
Whenever you see a reflection, go for it!
This is what I also write in my eBook about composition, so if you want to know more about it, you can grab it over on my store.
Reflections do not necessarily have to be huge, it could also be a small one like in a puddle. And if you do so, get close to the surface to reduce unwanted space between the “real” object and its reflection.
