I tried to create a Winter Lightroom Preset Package with Photographs I took during this year’s winter. Believe me, it is not that simple! The metering system of the camera always underexposes the photo – this can be fixed by increasing the expose by about one stop.
One of the bigger problems I faced was the fact that the snow is a big reflector. Snow reflects all the colors that are nearby, and this makes the adjustment White Balance quite tricky! When creating my preset package, I realized that it is almost impossible to make an Adobe Preset Package that fits for all the different photographs.
Photography Tip:
When taking photos outside, it is sometimes a little cold and to keep me warm, I sometimes rush inside a restaurant (if there is no pandemic). With all the moisture inside the restaurant, the lens becomes foggy. Leave your camera inside the camera bag when you want to take photographs after warming up!
The same goes when you travel to humid places where the hotels are cooled down by AC. Keep the camera in the bathroom over night, this is a place that is not cooled down and when you go outside, the lens does not fog up.
