When I was in Fareham in the United Kingdom a few month ago, I had some dinner with good friends. When looking out the window I saw a person kite surfing. I could not believe my eyes, it was November! I grabbed my camera to get to the sea for some photos. Luck was on my side because I had a gorgeous sunset with a nice reflection.
I was standing there for about 20 minutes to watch the sunset and the kite surfer going up and down. I made about 80 different photos. Out of all those photos, it is almost the only one that shows the sunset in combination with kite surfer!
I tried different perspective and walked around on the beach to get a better perspective. But none of this really helped – I had to wait for the perfect light with the perfect angle of the kite surfer.
If the kite surfer should read this, I would like to say thanks for posing!
Photo Tip:
The kite surfer moved fast and for this reason, the tripod is not fitting at all. I increased the ISO and put the camera in manual mode – the M mode. I chose a shutter speed of around 1/160 sec and the lowest F-Stop there was on the lens. If your photo still turns out to be a little dark, simply increase the ISO. Do not touch the shutter speed because the more it is open, the blurry the kite surfer will become.
