Authenticity in Every Click

7. February 2024

The post “Authenticity in Every Click” describes my history in photography and what it took to really made photography my passion.

When I first dived into the world of photography, I found that my initial attempts were not that satisfactory. The images captured failed to convey the essence of what I witnessed or the vision I had anticipated. This was during the era of film photography, an era that held a certain charm for me.

After a vacation, I would send off my films for development. The wait, lasting one or two weeks, was filled with anticipation about my photos. When I received the developed photos, I was dipped in a flood of memories and relived the entire vacation through these prints.

Yet, as I examined the results, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of dissatisfaction.

The colors lacked the vibrancy and saturation I had perceived, and the sharpness of the images seemed slightly off. My expectations for something different persisted.

In my pursuit of perfection, I took to processing black and white photos in my own darkroom. It marked a significant shift as I became an active participant in the development process, altering the appearance of my images. However, this creative freedom was limited to black and white, as the cost associated for color photos was prohibitive.

Patience became my ally until the advent of Photoshop, a revolutionary tool that granted me the power to manipulate and enhance my photographs the way I wanted it. It was a game-changer, offering boundless possibilities to bring my artistic visions to life without the constraints of traditional darkroom processes.

Don’t overcook the photos

Initially, I found myself tinkering with my photos in ways that I turned away from reality. I added objects, altered colors completely – essentially experimenting with the capabilities of my newfound digital darkroom. However, it’s important to note that distorting reality was never my intention; instead, I was simply navigating the learning curve of this innovative tool.

As I dedicated countless hours to mastering Adobe products, I gradually found my footing. My goal shifted towards recreating the authenticity of the moments captured, striving to make my photos as true to life as the scenes I had witnessed.

The evolution of my digital darkroom skills allowed me to bring a sense of realism to my images, bridging the gap between the creative possibilities offered by technology and the genuine essence of the original experiences.

In my online store, every preset I offer, whether designed for Adobe or Photomatix, is carefully created to achieve the utmost realism. I take great care to ensure that these presets enhance your photographs authentically, capturing the true essence of the scenes you’ve captured.

Whether you’re working with Adobe products or Photomatix, my presets are tailored to deliver a genuine and lifelike quality to your images, providing users with a seamless way to enhance their photography while preserving the integrity of the original moments captured. This is what I call “Authenticity in Every Click”.
