Discovering the beauty of Santiago, Kapo Verde, from a unique perspective was an unforgettable experience for me. During my stay in the north of the island, I had the opportunity to capture this stunning photo. In general I love beautiful Kapo Verde with lots of photo opportunities.
As the rain began to pour down in torrents and lightning flashed across the sky, I rushed to get my camera, struggling to capture the perfect shot. Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t seem to aim my lens in the right direction, missing out on some truly spectacular flashes that illuminated the darkened sky. Although I regretted not being able to capture the strongest lightning bolts, the experience was still a powerful reminder of the raw power and beauty of nature.
One of the highlights of my trip in beautiful Kapo Verde was an island tour that allowed me to witness the diverse vegetation of Santiago. It was a truly trip that surprised me! Praia is totally the opposite from what I have experienced on this isle tour. Praia is the capital of Santiago and I stayed there for the first 5 days. Overall, my time in Kapo Verde was an unforgettable experience that left me with a newfound appreciation for the natural wonders of our world. From the stunning beaches to the verdant countryside, there is no shortage of beauty to be discovered in this captivating destination.
Photography Tip:
When it comes to capturing lightning flashes on camera, using the automatic shutter release setting is your best bet. Since lightning strikes unexpectedly, it’s important to set up your camera on a stable tripod and let it take photo by photo. And eventually, one photo has the perfect flash in it.
There is equipment that would help to capture lightnings. But since a photo does not cost money anymore, I rather use the above mentioned technique than spending $$ on additional equipment.
Remember, safety should always come first when photographing lightning. Be sure to keep a safe distance from the storm and seek shelter if necessary.
