If I was going to Paris now, I would take the photo a little different.
Since I cannot travel, I started to retouch photograph I took a few years ago. It is really cool to see how I leveled up my photography skills. It is hard to find good photographs I took in the past because most of them do not really meet my expectations. Many times I said to keep taking photos to increase the photography skills – and I think my own photos form the past is the perfect example!
I took this photo in Paris (obviously). I also said above that I would take the photo a little different when getting back there. Why? The Eifel Tower is not perfectly centered between the buildings. If I was going to go back there to take the same photograph again, I would step a little bit to the right to have the Eifel Tower better positioned between the buildings.
Photography Tip:
I used a wide angle lens for this photograph. One of the tips when using a wide angle lens is always to avoid distortion. In general I agree, but there are some situations when I think it is appropriate. Not everyone likes the result but I am personally trying to do this very subtly with architecture photos.
The tip is to actually use the distortion in the photos!
