New York City, Big Apple, Gotham, or what ever the city is called, the city is a very photogenic place and always worth a trip.
New York City is a city like no other: The mega-metropolis on the east coast of the USA has for every taste something to offer. Manhattan that is located between the East and the Hudson River. It is home to the best and most famous photography sights.
For city trips like New York City I mainly bring one thing (besides my camera equipment): comfortable shoes – preferably sneakers, with which I can walk a lot. Even though I can get everywhere by metro, it’s best to explore the neighborhoods on foot.
This is what I do on all my city trips, not specifically for New York City.
Photography Tip:
When I take photographs I try to take them at the right times of the day. That time is often unknown to me. For this reason I get back to the same location during different times of the day. Different times indicate different light conditions and different atmosphere.
Those best conditions are usually often early morning, late afternoon, dusk, and night. Don’t forget the rain – when it rains, there are no people and there is a lot of beautiful reflections.
