I almost felt lost in New York City! Such a big city!
It was not the first time for me in NYC but I always feel like it is. There are so many thing to see. The city is so big for such a small Swiss guy.
This time when I was in New York, it was raining overnight and due to jet lag I was awake pretty early in the morning to experience “sunrise”. There was not much to see of the sun. It was more the ambient light situation I like so much. And also the streetlights where turned on.

The reflections on the ground are caused by the rain respectively the lights that are still on. For this situation I put my camera into M mode – Manual mode. I chose an F-Stop of 7.1 and a shutter speed 1/125 sec. the overall image is too dark by just using those settings, so therefore I increased the ISO. I also did this manual but if you do not want to change the ISO settings all the time, you can put the ISO to “Auto” and the camera automatically choses the settings for you.
Do not forget to disable the bracketing function on the camera with those settings – this is just a hint because I usually do…
