I was driving on the Freeway (with proper clothes for driving) when I started realizing that the sunset will be kind of cool. With my camera with the tripod in the trunk, I decided to drive to a location I have been before – I knew I did not have time to search for another location because the sunset will not wait for me 😉
When I have arrived, I really had to rush; I wanted to take a photo when the sun was still partially in the sky. But when I finished installing the equipment, the sun was already gone behind the mountains.
Because this was not really a planned photo shooting, I was not wearing proper clothes. I had a spare jacket in the car that I wore but my shoes… My shoes were not really meant to be for cold weather. And my hands… I did not wear any gloves. After like 45 minutes of taking photos, I got back in my car and drove (with heating fully turned on) to the restaurant to warm up. Believe me beer helps in this situation.
Photography Tip:
Wait. Yes, just wait for better light! Whenever you think you have the perfect light and color, it might be true, but if you wait, there might be the opportunity for better colors. I took so many photos of sunsets – nice, nicer, stunning, OK, gone…
